On completion of my College Course, I was very fortunate to be offered a job at Face Facts. This gave me the opportunity to be involved in a fantastic range of treatments and products used by the Company. I have now worked for the Company since 2002. I am really interested in skincare – Guinot are my favourite products which we use extensively at Face Facts. Wedding make-ups, pedicures, IPL treatments and tattoo removal are all regular features of my work within the salon. A good relationship will all my clients is very important to me – aiming to provide a personal touch at all times I want them to feel good about themselves after a treatment. Every year Face Facts has a charity initiative – I really enjoy the range of activities we get involved in. I feel very lucky to be part of a Professional Team of Beauty Therapists at Face Facts where we provide an amazing range of treatments resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.

I had a complete change of career path 2016 when I went from business to beauty overnight! Upon finishing my beauty course I was able to start off in the industry as a spa therapist in a Country Spa before progressing to a salon therapist at Face Facts in 2017. I personally have a great interest in all beauty treatments, Guinot and Priori skincare gave me the opportunity to give clients the ultimate relaxation facial treatments and from this, I have gone on to complete my Lynton IPL training so I can now advise clients on their skin needs from a pampering and clinical level from skin rejuvenation to red vein and pigment removal. Being able to adapt each treatment to my clients on a personal level is very important to me from choosing a nail colour to match an outfit, to making sure a bride has got her perfect skincare routine in place so she will have the ultimate glow on her wedding day! This has helped me improve my own knowledge and skills, however, this has also allowed me to give high standard treatments that we all continue to maintain as a team.

Since I can remember I have always had an interest in beauty therapy and I have now been part of the team since 2003. My favourite part of the job is meeting clients old and new and providing them with the best service I can. Whether it be an eyebrow shape or laser tattoo removal, it really motivates me when I see results and watch the skin improve or nails transform. I'm enjoying the role of Manager, which enables me to be more involved in the running of the salon. This has intensified my passion to maintain the high standard of treatments that we all give as a team.

Pam
I have been with Face Facts since 1995, after a career change from domestic work to something more enjoyable for me. I felt I would like to go back to the similar work I did before starting a family. As you see I am still going strong thanks to the wonderful team I work with and every new treatment that becomes available to keep us at the top of our industry. When I first started it was just for one day a week which then increased to full time. In 2008 I decreased my hours to part-time to help my daughter’s with child care, to help care for my 5 grandchildren, 2 boys and 3 girls of whom I adore. In these years I have seen some big changes in the Salon, starting out with a small desk, and book for appointments, to now with a super-sized reception desk and computerised system. The best part of my job and what I love the most is the meeting and greeting of the client’s old and new. Client’s feeling welcome and happy is the most rewarding part of the job for me, especially clients feeling comfortable in a new environment. It is such a relaxing working environment that we have, as we all get on so well as a team but socially as well. We are all one unit working together so it feels like we are all one big family.

I finished my beauty training in 1997 at High Peak College in Buxton before going on to work for a leisure company all over the UK, perfecting massage and relaxation treatments at pampering weekends. Alongside that, I worked full time at The Nail and Beauty Studio, where I had extensive training in nails, nail art and extensions which I enjoyed very much and still do. Then I came to work at Face Facts Buxton where my use and knowledge of other treatments were put to the test. I found I enjoyed having a varied schedule and had ongoing training in lots of new specialist areas. My favourites, I trained as a Body Piercer in 1999, Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and Laser treatments in 2000 and have been fascinated by the skin and its care since been introduced to MD Formulation’s skincare now known as Priori/ Elizabeth Arden PRO and Guinot. The results on peoples skin and the difference I could make inspired me to enter the salon of excellence awards. My portfolio, built over 12 months WON me The Therapist of the Year Award and RUNNER UP in The Best Before and After. Winning 2 awards out of 6 in a National competition felt amazing and all for just doing my job! In 2006 came the biggest compliment of all, thanks to Liz (former salon owner) as I became a partner in Face Facts, then together we opened Face Facts II in Bakewell and now I have sole responsibility in Buxton. I feel very passionate about my job and my treatments and feel very privileged to work with a very special team of therapists and receptionists, together making the clients and friends who choose to spend there precious time with us special.

Jade is a bundle of smiling happiness and you will find her on reception. She’s already bought so much fun and laughter to the team in the short time she has been with us and she’s certainly made a great impression with clients too, making sure she makes everyone feel special. You can usually find her tucking someone under a blanket, finding them a hot water bottle or generally trying to be the most helpful she possibly can. If you’ve met her you will know what we mean and if you haven’t she looks forward to meeting you!
