Suitable for most healed piercings and many healing ones when a change reduces pressure and irritation. If a change is not in your best interest, you will receive honest advice and a plan for better timing.

Duration & Appointment Timing

Most straightforward changes take around 10 minutes. Complex placements, tight rings or multiple piercings may need longer.

For new piercings, downsizing is usually advised once initial swelling and tenderness have reduced. If the area is very sore, hot or producing unusual discharge, postpone and seek advice first.

Arrive with clean skin and avoid alcohol beforehand. Bring any jewellery you hope to use so it can be checked for size and safety.

Aftercare & Maintenance

Expect mild tenderness for a day or two. Rinse gently with sterile saline and avoid twisting or frequent handling.

Keep hair, masks and clothing from catching on the area. Sleep on the opposite side or use a travel pillow to reduce pressure.

Change pillowcases, avoid swimming for 48 hours and skip harsh products such as alcohol or peroxide. Book a check if you notice persistent irritation, swelling or an end that loosens.
